Products
Semikron Danfoss offers a complete portfolio of products – from chip to system. Our advanced packaging technologies, modern production methods, and strict quality processes are integrated into every product line. We provide power electronic solutions for all markets across the industrial, renewable, and e-mobility sectors.
Power Modules
Power modules are the building blocks for all high power converters, providing the mechanical, thermal, and electrical interfaces necessary to connect power semiconductor die (chips) to the outside world. Power modules vary in size, shape, and construction based upon power rating and application requirements. IGBT, MOSFETs, diodes, and thyristors are configured in a huge variety of circuit topologies using advanced packaging technologies. Since inventing the first electrically isolated power module in 1975, Semikron Danfoss continues to be a leader in power semiconductor packaging.
IPM and Drivers
For more than 20 years, Semikron Danfoss’ intelligent integrated power modules – also known as SKiiP modules – have proven to be a reliable solution for electric energy conversion, offering a high level of integration in compact dimensions. Our expertise in power electronics is integrated into both our IPMs and gate drivers, ensuring optimal efficiency in line with the industry's shift towards maximizing the use of power electronics. For our drivers, this results in highly integrated features and more stringent design and material selection requirements in developing reliable IGBT driver electronics, to meet the highest requirements from the demanding applications. The SKiiP Technology combines IGBT modules, gate drive for safe signal insulation, ultra-precise current and voltage sensors, and an efficient heatsink, in one, perfectly matched setup.
Power Electronic Stacks
Power electronics stacks are sub-assemblies that enable customers to shorten power system development while saving resources and simplifying supply chain. They provide all the features to fit electrically and mechanically into standard industrial cabinets.
SKAI Converters
SKAI converters are designed to electrify on-highway commercial vehicles (CV), i.e. busses and trucks, as well as off-highway vehicles and machines for material handling, CAF, marine, and general light electric vehicles. The SKAI converters are flexible and smart platforms designed to become the power backbone of power-electronic systems. They provide top power technology and performance for customer specific solutions greatly improving time-to market and minimizing risk and cost. And with more than 30 years of field experience SKAI converters have proven perfectly suitable for on- and off-highway vehicle applications more than two million times.
Discretes
Semikron Danfoss offers discrete (single) diodes and thyristors in three package styles: axial/leaded, stud, and capsule/disc. These three packages cover a wide current range from PCB-mounted designs to megawatt-class converters. Applications include battery chargers, welding equipment, rotating rectifiers for brushless generators, electroplating, freewheeling diodes, high-voltage rectifiers, electrostatic filters, and blocking diodes.
Bare Dies
Semikron Danfoss has decades of experience in the fabrication of advanced bipolar devices for use in power modules and discretes. A broad portfolio of rectifier diode and thyristor chips is available using advanced mesa termination technology. For freewheeling diode (FWD) applications, Semikron Danfoss’ advanced Controlled Axial Lifetime (CAL) diodes are available to pair with the latest generation IGBTs. Semikron Danfoss application support and logistics ensure these devices are seamlessly integrated into users’ production process.
