IPM and Drivers
For more than 20 years, Semikron Danfoss’ intelligent integrated power modules – also known as SKiiP modules – have proven to be a reliable solution for electric energy conversion, offering a high level of integration in compact dimensions. Our expertise in power electronics is integrated into both our IPMs and gate drivers, ensuring optimal efficiency in line with the industry's shift towards maximizing the use of power electronics. For our drivers, this results in highly integrated features and more stringent design and material selection requirements in developing reliable IGBT driver electronics, to meet the highest requirements from the demanding applications. The SKiiP Technology combines IGBT modules, gate drive for safe signal insulation, ultra-precise current and voltage sensors, and an efficient heatsink, in one, perfectly matched setup.
SKiiP IPM
SKiiP Technology combines IGBT modules, gate drive, and cooling technology in one, perfectly matched setup. Final testing at the end of production, including a one-hour burn-in test, ensures the highest reliability in the application. The SKiiP IPM 1200V and 1700V product lines set a benchmark for high-performance and robust inverter designs. All SKiiP generations feature high power densities combined with flexible cooling options, such as air and liquid cooling or customized heat sinks. Reliable driver technology, integrated current sensors, and comprehensive protection functions complete the IPM design.
Gate Drivers
Semikron Danfoss' gate drivers offer the ability to master the challenging conditions of today's power electronics. Thanks to our highly integrated ASIC technology, our gate drivers are equipped with multi-failure management, configurable filtering, and robust signal processing, in conjunction with the gate driver’s reinforced isolation and operating temperature up to 105°C. Setting a new benchmark for high switching, high voltage applications, the SKYPER 42 LJ PV operates with up to 100kHz switching frequency at 1500VDC, not to mention the dedicated protection for 2-level and 3-level topologies. To optimize time-to-market, our Plug-and-Play drivers can help reduce the user’s development effort.
