SemiSeal Technology

As power modules are deployed in increasingly harsh operating conditions, effective protection of critical semiconductor components becomes paramount. SemiSeal provides a reliable barrier against corrosive gases such as H2S, helping to preserve performance and extend product lifetime.

Advanced Protection Against Corrosive Gases

SemiSeal-Technology

As power converters are increasingly deployed in challenging industrial and polluted environments, exposure to sulfur-containing gases can pose a significant reliability risk. Contaminants such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), originating from industrial processes, agriculture, wastewater treatment, and atmospheric pollution, can react with metallic surfaces inside power modules. Over time, this can lead to dendrite growth and ultimately cause catastrophic short circuits.

SemiSeal provides an advanced protective layer within the power module, preventing dendrite formation on critical surfaces and helping to ensure long-term system reliability in harsh operating conditions.

In addition to superior protection against corrosive gases, SemiSeal can also enhance humidity robustness in selected products, further improving durability in demanding applications.

Its flexible implementation enables seamless integration into many existing power module platforms without affecting package dimensions, form factor, or customer interfaces. This allows customers to benefit from enhanced environmental protection without requiring design changes to their systems.
